2. General Information on Data Processing

The protection of personal data is very important to us.

We process personal data exclusively in accordance with the statutory requirements of the GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

This privacy policy explains the nature, scope, and purpose of the processing of personal data when using our website and our software-as-a-service solution "Classic Audioguide".

3. Hosting

Our application is hosted by:

  • netcup GmbH
  • Daimlerstraße 25
  • 76185 Karlsruhe
  • Germany

The servers are located exclusively in Germany.

Processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and efficient operation of our services).

4. Access Data and Server Logs

When our website or SaaS application is accessed, the following data is automatically collected:

  • IP address (shortened or anonymized where possible)
  • date and time of access
  • requested page or resource
  • browser and operating system used

This data is used exclusively for:

  • technical provision,
  • system security,
  • error analysis.

It is not combined with other data.

5. Registration and User Account

When registering a user account, we process the following personal data:

  • name
  • email address
  • password (stored in encrypted form only)

Processing is carried out for the purpose of:

  • providing personalized access,
  • performing the contract,
  • technical administration.

Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (performance of a contract)

6. End Users without Login (Museum Visitors)

Museum visitors can use audio guides without creating a user account. In this process,

  • no names,
  • no email addresses,
  • no user profiles

are collected.

Access is counted only anonymously or in aggregated form in order to monitor usage limits and system stability.

No personal analysis takes place.

7. Counting Accesses (No Analytics Tools)

We do not use any external tracking or analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).

Accesses are counted:

  • server-side,
  • without user profiles,
  • without cross-site tracking.

The sole purpose is:

  • billing of pricing tiers,
  • technical evaluation of system load.

8. Cookies and Local Storage

Our application does not use cookies for tracking or marketing purposes.

Only local storage is used where technically necessary, for example for:

  • login states,
  • language settings,
  • session functions.

9. Contact Form and Support

When using the contact form or sending support requests by email, the following data is processed:

  • name
  • email address
  • content of the message

The data is processed exclusively for handling the request.

Legal basis:

  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (pre-contractual measures)
  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in communication)

10. Sending Emails

Emails are sent via the SMTP service of our hosting provider (netcup GmbH).

Data is not disclosed to any other third parties.

11. Payment Processing (Future)

No payment service providers are currently used.

Should payment processing be introduced in the future (e.g. via external providers), this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.

12. Disclosure of Data

Personal data is disclosed to third parties only if:

  • this is required by law,
  • it is necessary for contract performance,
  • consent has been given.

13. Storage Period

Personal data is stored only for as long as:

  • it is necessary for the respective purpose, or
  • statutory retention periods apply.

14. Rights of Data Subjects

Data subjects have the right to:

  • access to stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
